5 Herbs and Spices Drink Recipes Perfect for the Summer Season

Try these delicious yet nutritious herbs and spices drink recipes on a hot summer day:

1. Fruity Mint Slush

What you need:

3 fresh mint leaves, more for garnish
3 strawberries (frozen)
1 cup cubed pineapple
1/4 cup red seedless grapes (frozen)
1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
1 tbsp. fresh lime juice

Combine applesauce, lime juice and grapes in a blender and process until smooth. Add in the mint leaves, strawberries and pineapple cubes and pulse until fruits are in small bits. Garnish with mint leaves if desired.

2. Lemon and Basil Cooler

What you need:

1 1/2 cups frozen lemonade concentrate, thawed
1/2 cup torn basil leaves
1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
1/3 cup white sugar
12 cups water

Combine lemonade concentrate, lemon juice, white sugar and water in a pitcher. Add basil leaves. Stir until all ingredients are well-combined. Refrigerate for at least 8 hours to overnight. When ready, remove basil leaves from the mixture and discard. Serve immediately.

3. Chili-Citrus Refresher

What you need:


1/4 cup fresh lime juice
1 dried chile pepper, plus more for garnish
1 1/2 cups cantaloupe wedges
2 cubes cane sugar
2 lime round slices for garnish
6-8 ice cubes

Combine the lime juice, cantaloupe wedges and cane sugar cubes in a small shaker then muddle until cantaloupe wedges are crushed and ingredients are well-combined. Add the chile pepper and ice cubes then shake for 15 to 20 seconds. Pour into serving glasses with ice cubes and garnish with chile peppers and lime slices.

4. Ginger-Berry Delight

What you need:

1 1/2 cups frozen strawberries
1 cup chopped fresh mint
1/2 cup sliced ginger
4 cups white sugar
2 cups water
1 cup white balsamic vinegar
Juice of 2 lemons

Bring the sugar and water to a boil over high heat in a medium pan or until sugar has dissolved. Add strawberries, mint, ginger and lemon juice. Bring to a boil again, lower heat then simmer for 15 to 20 minutes. Remove from heat, add white balsamic vinegar and stir to combine. Allow to cool then strain fruits. Allow the syrup to stand at room temperature overnight in a covered glass container. When ready, pour over glasses with ice.

5. Apple and Chamomile Iced Tea

What you need:

3 cups brewed chamomile tea
2 cups fresh apple juice
1/3 cup passion fruit pulp
Mint leaves for garnish

Mix together chamomile tea, apple juice and passion fruit pulp in a large pitcher. Stir to combine. Pour over glasses with ice and garnish with mint leaves.
