Do you recall those almost summer days, by the end of May or begging of June when you were walking in a park and suddenly a sweet smell was invading you? You look up and then you see a tree full of yellow flowers with a smell that puts you in a dreaming state. And then you stop and enjoy the moment, the smell, the warm weather, the sun playing on your face between the branches. You breath in, you dream and then you breath out.
This is what I recall when somebody mentions the word linden to me. And in the winter, when there is no spring or summer spirit inside the house I bring back these memories with a cup of linden tea.
Did I mention before that I am tea lover? Probably not here. I rarely drink coffee but tea I am drinking every single day. Linden tea is one of my favorite... it is a sweet flower that makes a light yellow tea.
The recipe? Well, what could be more simple. Take some flowers, put them in a tea pot and pour over some hot water. Wait for 10 minutes and serve it in a cup.
But linden is not only about memories, hot drinks, and taste. It is also about health. It is a tea used for different remedies. Maybe you know already some of them but let me list them here:
- colds, stuffy nose, breathing problems, cough
- fever
- infections
- high blood pressure
- headaches
- insomnia
- nervous tension
- incontinence
- muscle spams
You can use it for relaxing on daily basis. Who doesn't need that nowadays?
