I know that you see all those cute actresses sporting bangs this season. I also know that Pinterest is filling your mind with ideas that it’s somehow easy to style bangs. I know, I know it’s tempting. But don’t, just don’t. You’ve made this mistake before about bangs and you know, oh you know, that it’s hard to take back.
C’mon now, Sonnet. Remember that time when you were twenty and decided to cut your bangs yourself? Yeah, that was a bad one. Or that time you chopped your hair off for that pixie cut? Hmm. Yeah, you’ve made some bad hair decisions. So let’s keep it simple and stick with the same old layers, shall we?
Sigh. Somehow I should have listened. I really should have listened to that well-intentioned voice who repeatedly warned me that bangs are not a good idea. Don’t get me wrong: there are LOTS of people who can pull off bangs… I’m just not one of them.
Oh well. Tis the season for bangs I guess. And pears. Definitely pears. I may not have great instincts when it comes to haircuts, but at least I can be trusted to make better decisions in the kitchen…
This recipe is one of my favorites because it feels so sweet and decadent, but there’s no added sugar! It’s also gluten-free and completely vegan so it works for a variety of diets.
I used ripe bartlett pears in this recipe and combined them with a little cinnamon, nutmeg, and a sprinkle of shredded coconut flakes to add a little color contrast. This would also be great topped with toasted nuts or homemade coconut whipped cream.
What’s your favorite dessert with pears this season?
